How Does Boutique Whitening Work?
There are just three easy steps to complete to ensure you achieve your brighter, whiter smile.
- First, book an appointment with Dr Ian Yiannakis. A dental examination is essential to ensure teeth whitening is safe and appropriate and will meet your treatment goals. Any dental issues such as tooth decay must be treated before whitening your teeth. We take detailed dental impressions of your mouth during this appointment to create your custom whitening trays.
- The impressions are sent to our dental lab, where skilled technicians fabricate the trays, ensuring they fit your mouth precisely and comfortably. While your trays are made, we provide you with special toothpaste to use, designed to reduce tooth sensitivity during tooth whitening. You will also use this toothpaste during your whitening treatment.
- Once your trays are ready, you return to our practice to collect them and your whitening gel. We provide carbamide peroxide whitening gels that are extremely stable and safe for home use and come in various strengths. During your initial appointment, Dr Yiannakis can discuss which strength of whitening gel will suit you best. The trays are very easy to use, and we will show you how to fill them and insert and remove them. When used as recommended, you will see your teeth visibly whiten over two or three weeks.
The beauty of Boutique Teeth Whitening is that you are in control of the entire process. You can decide when you want to wear the trays. For example, people who want to achieve results quickly will often opt to wear the trays overnight while they sleep. Others prefer to wear the trays for an hour or two during the day. How Long Will Teeth Whitening Last?
Teeth whitening is not permanent, and you will need to top up treatments to maintain your whiter smile. The frequency depends on your lifestyle habits, but most people need a top-up treatment every 6-12 months as a general guide. A top-up treatment will only take a few days to complete, and you can re-use your custom trays using whitening gel supplied by Helena Street Dental.
