Qualifications & Early Career 

Dr Ian Yiannakis graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993. After graduation, he worked with Dental Health Services in the northern Goldfields and with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, providing essential dental care to remote communities.

Private Practice 

Ian entered private practice in 1995 and has been the principal dentist at Helena Street Dental since November 2000, caring for individuals and families across Midland and surrounding areas for more than two decades.

Clinical Approach 

Ian’s focus is on practical, patient-centred dentistry:

Preventive care and maintenance
General and restorative treatments (including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canal therapy, extractions, dentures, and dental implants)
Clear explanations of findings and options, with transparent discussion of costs and sequencing of care

He values continuity of care and takes the time to ensure each treatment plan is tailored to individual needs and long-term oral health.

Community Involvement 

Ian has a long history of community service in the Midland area. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Midland for six years (including one year as club president) and continues to support local initiatives, including sponsorship of disadvantaged children to community shows hosted by Rotary, Lions Club, and the Special Children’s Christmas Party.
