Joey Chia was born in Malaysia and speaks fluent English and Mandarin.
Before completing her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene at Curtin University in 2009, Joey gained valuable experience working as a dental assistant, where she developed her passion for preventive care and patient education.
As the dental hygienist at Helena Street Dental in Midland, Joey focuses on helping patients maintain healthy gums and teeth through regular preventive care, professional cleaning, and individualised oral hygiene guidance.
She believes that good oral health is an important part of overall wellbeing and takes time to educate patients on effective at-home habits that make a lasting difference.
Joey enjoys connecting with her patients, learning about their experiences, and helping them feel at ease during their visits. She enjoys hearing about her patients’ travel stories and perspectives on current events.
Outside of the practice, she loves reading, travelling, and volunteering. Joey is married to her loving husband, Calvin.
